WW1 Lee Enfield SMLE Short Mag

WW1 and WW2 British Short Magazine Lee Enfield Bolt action rifle - the Classic SMLE (Short, Magazine, Lee-Enfield) in good condition and deactivated with full working action and stunning woodwork. It quickly proved to be the finest rifle of World War 1 and It also had double the magazine capacity of any other weapon of the period - when you had a battalion of Tommies where each man was trained to fire at least 30 aimed shots a minute, it is no wonder that many germans thought they were under machine gun fire. A British classic. If you are looking for details and information on a specific soldier or relative during WW1 the follow this link.

WW1 deactivated Lee Enfield SMLE .303, dug up near Cambrai:

Super rare WW1 historic dug up SMLE found near Cambrai:

Here`s a rare survivor - a WW1 British SMLE mk3, dug up in a farmers field in the mid 70`s, stored in a barn then displayed in a museum. Most dug ups are almost unrecognisable hunks of rust - this one is around 80% complete which marks it out from the crowd. Lost its top wood and maybe half of the rear stock, but ts easily recognised as a WW1 British SMLE, alas can`t date it or make ot the maker due to decay. The action is moving so it`s had to be deactivated, comes with correct UK certificate of deactivation.

WW1 piece of history - dug up near Cambrai, deactivated British SMLE .303 - straight out of a museum:
