Austrian Werndl M1867 Obsolete Calibre 11mm

Austrian Werndl M1867 Obsolete Calibre rotary breach 11mm

Now here`s a rare one - a small batch of obsolete calibre 11mm Austrian Wendl 11mm with rotary breach - an interesting design (though not a patch on the Martini...) you cock the hammer, roll the rotary to the side to open the bresch where a neat liitle cartidge extrator pops out the spent cartridge, load a fresh one and rotate to close and lock in place. Made between 1867 - 1888, they ended life being used by the Austrians in WW1, rather them than me...

Obsolete calibre, not deactivated but no license required.

Austrian Werndl M1867 Carbine Obsolete Calibre,

Wow, don`t see many Wendyl rifles any more, but a Carbine is mega rare! Used primarily by Mountain troops rather than Cavalry, a more compact rifle was better suited to the extreme conditions of the fighting in the alps and may of these carbines would have been used through WW1. Condition of this one is very good, woodowrk is full of character as you can see in the pics, barrels been opened up internally so the riflings gone, action works fine and its obsolete calibre.
