British Musket muskets, percussion cap rifles and other European obsolete calibre rifles:

These are all Obsolete Calibre - that is, they have full working actions and barrels, but you can no longer get the ammo or they are black powder antiques so no license is required to own one.

British Enfield type heavy breach musket:

British percussion musket - heavy weight breach:

Here`s a very good looking British Percussion musket - unrifled, would be made around 1840 with an Enfield type action. Nice walnut with some miner period repairs as you would expect, but just check out the breach - super thick for around 6 inches then into a flatted off section before neatly becoming the barrel - this thing fired a heavy load! Obsolete calibre so live, no license required, trigger and hammer move but does not cock for some reason.

Nepalese 1853 pattern percussion Tower musket:

Nepalese military Tower musket, obsolete calibre with socket bayonet:

Now the Nepalese just could`nt get enough of our muskets back in the day, so they tended to copy ours and make there own - here`s a good example of exactly that. Identical to an 1853 Enfield Tower Musket except its Nepalese. Good overall condition, some sandscript markings and it comes with the correct socket bayonet. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

Super rare antique French model M1842 Musket:

Now we don`t see many of these, a French Army model 1842 Charville in rather nice condition - army markings on the butt have it around 1846. Looks like the stock has been repaired around the grip at some point but its to be expected at this age, Cocks and dry fires and has its ramrod plus a French regimental marking on the butt plate, obsolete calibre so no license required.

East India Company Brown Bess circa 1780:

East India Company Brown bess, Shortland Pattern:

Here`s a bit of a stunner, dating from around 1880, this 39" Shortland Pattern Brown Bess is very fine condition, East India Company (the funny heart shaped cresent on the lockplate is the giveaway), though we`d hazard a guess that its be refurbished at some point in its life, though we took the lock plate off hust to be sure and its 100% real deal as soon as you look inside. Action is strong, sling is old and correct, though I doub`t its original, probably put on there when re furbished. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

East India Company Brown Bess complete with leather sling:

£1550 (would be £3k+ if not refurbished)

From the same collection as above, this is an early 1800`s East India Company Land Pattern Brown Bess, with its original flintlock lock which has been converted to percussion cap (the holes for the flintlock fittings are still there, dead giveaway). Its been refurbished at some point so we popped the lock off and checked inside, its all original in there, pic above. Condition is very good throughout though it has been re-numbered with a heavy hand. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

Remington 12mm Rolling Block rifle, ex military:

Remington Rolling Block rifle, 1870`s, 12mm obsolete with sling:

Here`s one you don`t see very often, an early 1870`s Remington Rolling Block in 12mm, looking at the markings and bayonet lug it looks like one of the Danish Military issue ones (commercial had no bayonet lug). These Remingtons were popular with many armed forces and found particular favour with Buffalo Hunters, as the breach was exceptionally strong and could take a huge powder load. This ones in very good order, all original, missing the cleaning rod and rgimental butt disk. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

Obsolete calibre 1888 German G71 Mauser:

1888 dated German G71 Mauser, live obsolete caibre:

Now this is rare - we are all used to seeing K98`s and earlier G98`s, maybe the pre war G88 with the metal barrel sleeve, but here`s the daddy of all Mauser action rifles, the G71. This was the first Mauser action rifle designed by Paul Mauser to be succsesfully produced, sold and used and all Mauser action rifles share there DNA with this model (thank god we were working on the Lee Metford design...). This ones in good period condition, great woodwork, excellent metalwork for the age and is regimentally marked on the butt (down to you to research that one...) and is full live working order as its obsolete calibre so no license required

British Naval 3/4" Naval musket - Flintlock converted to Percussion cap:

Now here`s a piece of history - A British 3/4" musket with silver steel proof marked barrel so its a Naval issue one - would have been a Flintlock but its had a percussion cap conversion and a change of lock plate so no date or details. Cocks and dry fires, obsolete calibre so live but no license required.

British 1868 dated Snyder 3 band rifle, obsolete calibre:

1868 dated British Synider military marked 3 band rifle:

The Syder had only a short 10 year military service with British army during the development of the Martini Henry. The first examples were earlier Tower rifles with the breach chopped and swopped, this British example was purpose made and has plenty of war department stamps on it. Finsih is excellent, a little wear to the finish as you would expect as its 100% original and has not been restored. Woodworks a joy as well. Comes with an inert round as well. Cocks and dry fires, obsolete calibre so no license required.

Heres a rare British 2 band (slightly shorter, often referred to as the Sargeants Carbine) with great woodwork and some pitting to the metalwork as can be seen, a really nice British example with no Nepalise markings. The action is strong, bore is good - could do with a good clean. Cocks and dry fires and has its cleaning rod.
