Mauser Bolt Action Rifle K98

From the introduction of the Mauser Bolt System with less successful G88 at the end of the 19th Century, the German WW1 G98 and then the shortened K98 in WW2 proved to be rather good. Though here at real-gun.com we may have a preference for the Lee-Enfield, there is no doubting just how well made and engineered these rifles are. The Mauser action is the most widely copied bolt action type in the world with almost all sporting rifles are based on the Mauser action. They are known for their strength, reliability and accuracy - the Kar 98 served the Wehrmacht with distinction in WWII and are still used today by target shooters.

Replica k98, aged with sling:

Aged replica K98 with sling:

Here`s a replica k98, now the thing that lets down replicas is always the woodwork - this ones been aged nicely along with metalwork (which has been dated and waffen stamped as well as some inert shells in the magwel - cool) as the previous owner was a re-enactor who didn`t want to take the real thing out on show, so he did a pretty darned good job on this replica K98 - strips, cocks and dry fires and comes with sling as well ***VCR applies***

Deactivated 1939 German Mauser K98, interesting markings...:

Deactivated 1939 German K98 243 code (Mauser-Werke AG) real deal SS marked:

OK, number one rule of anything SS marked is that its fake. So, when this deactivated Mauser K98 came in we assumed the same but had it checked out by two experts who felt it was not fake but 100% real deal - the marking on breach is cast in and curved made during production, not a flat stamp as found on fakes, quite a difference if you know what you are looking at. Though not a matching numbers rifle, the laminate stock also has a very feint SS insignia and L.A.H (Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler). Cocks and dry fires but does not strip and has correct deactivation certificate.
