Deactivated Mauser Bolt Action Rifle K98 and G98:

From the introduction of the Mauser Bolt System with less successful G88 at the end of the 19th Century, the German WW1 G98 and then the shortened K98 in WW2 proved to be rather good. Though here at real-gun.com we may have a preference for the Lee-Enfield, there is no doubting just how well made and engineered these rifles are. The Mauser action is the most widely copied bolt action type in the world with almost all sporting rifles are based on the Mauser action. They are known for their strength, reliability and accuracy - the Kar 98 served the Wehrmacht with distinction in WWII and are still used today by target shooters.

Another cracking ww2 K98 from the re-issued batch out of the Norwegian army - this ones a 1942 BYF made example. Metalwork and woodwork are in spot on - re-numbered by the Norwegian, fortunatly, all the original numbers and waffen stamps are intact and this one has matching numbers on breach, receiver and bands. Comes with cleaning rod, latest EU spec so the bolt cycles but does not cock and has correct EU/UK deactivation certificate.

Rare, rare, rare - this K98 is 1940 dated by Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik is a beautiful example of a ww2 German K98, but its also an original marksmans rifle (would have showed itself to be extra accurate on a bench test and set asside for sniper conversion) and is fitted with original drop in target sight/sniper site mounts (alas no site to go with it) and alothough re-numbered on the breach by the Noregian Army post war, all the original numbers are in place as are the Waffen stamps and its full matching numbers - every part down to the screws!!! Comes with site hood cleaning rod, latest EU spec so the bolt cycles but does not cock and has correct EU/UK deactivation certificate.

Here`s an excellent pre war 1890 dated German G88 by Spandau. Condition is very good - the thin metal barrel casing has survived well (these ofetn get dinked and dented), metalwork is very good with just a little wear to the finish, nice dark woodwork, regimenatlly marked on the barrel band if you can figure it out and it strips, cocks and dry fires and comes with correct deactivation certificate.

Here`s a rare beast - a WW2 1938 K98 in great condition with a period ZF41 scope and mounts (these were given to marksmen rather than snipers), The optics on the scope are very good though there is a dent to the front glare shield, all nicely waffen stamped. The rifle is great condition but looks like the body has been refinished at some point as the markings have been polished away in places - they are still there but quite feint, fitted with cleaning rod and leather sling. Strips, cocks and dry fires and comes with deactivation certificate.

Spanish Civil War 1925 Spanish Mauser:


Deactivated Spanish Civil War Vergueiro 7mm Mauser:

Here`s a very good 1925 dated Vergueiro Mauser (known as the Portuguese Mauser but the action was made in the German DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken K98 237 code (Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik) factory. Chambered for a 7mm smokeless cartridge it was used by both sides in the Spanish civil war and WW1, plus a lot Austrian troops used them in WW2. Woodwork and metalwork are in good period condition and it strips, cocks and dry fires and comes with correct deactivation certificate.

Now this is rare - we are all used to seeing K98`s and earlier G98`s, maybe the pre war G88 with the metal barrel sleave, but here`s the daddy of all Mauser action rifles, the G71. This was the first Mauser action rifle designed by Paul Mauser to be succsesfully produced, sold and used and all Mauser action rifles share there DNA with this model (thank god we were working on the Lee Metford design...). This ones in excellent cndition, great woodwork, excellent metalwrok for the age and is full live working order as its obsolete calibre so no license required

Deactivated Guns and the law:

Real-gun.com cannot sell deactivated guns to anyone under the age of 18. Though are not required to store this in a gun safe it is advised you store them in you dwelling, preferably in a locked cupboard. When transporting de-acs please keep them in out of site, preferably in a gun bag. Be sensible - don`t mount a .50 cal on the roof of your Jeep and take a drive - its fine on private land at shows but given the current climate please do not stress our Police any more than they currently are!
