Deactivated WW2 Russian DP28 light machine gun

Deactivated WW2 Russian DP28 light machine gun

Often underrated, the Russian DP28 (introduced from 1928...) was the first of a series of pretty good stabs a re-creating the whole Russian light arsenal (don`t forget it took years for the PPSH41 to get sorted out). It was robust and simple, with the usual lmg issue of barrel heat - hence the slower rate of fire and 50 round top drum mag. When the mag was good, the DP28 was pretty darned good, but unlike the Lewis mag, it was fragile - any knocks and dents and it gave the gun real issues. This batch of deactivated DP28`s are stunning - late WW2 dates, near perfect metalwork, very good woodwork, latest EU spec so charging leaver moves but bolt is welded place, trigger and safety work and the mag ejects, comes with correct UK certificate of deactivation.

Dug Up Russian DP28 - relic:

WW2 Russian DP28, blasted to bits:

Now this is a neat piece of history, a Russian DP28 dug up in the battlefields of the Courland Pocket, this DP28 has been hit by a shell burts or mortar - just check out the hole blown through the barrel shroud and the damage around the cocking rod... wouldn`t have wanted to be near that when it happened. Not Deactivated, rusted solid action.
