Mauser Bolt Action Rifle K98

Deactivated Mauser Bolt Action Rifle K98 and G98:

From the introduction of the Mauser Bolt System with less successful G88 at the end of the 19th Century, the German WW1 G98 and then the shortened K98 in WW2 proved to be rather good. Though here at real-gun.com we may have a preference for the Lee-Enfield, there is no doubting just how well made and engineered these rifles are. The Mauser action is the most widely copied bolt action type in the world with almost all sporting rifles are based on the Mauser action. They are known for their strength, reliability and accuracy - the Kar 98 served the Wehrmacht with distinction in WWII and are still used today by target shooters.

Deactivated 1937 WW2 German K98 dug-up near Normandy beaches:

Deactivated 1941 WW2 German K98, dug up from the battlefields of Normandy:

Now this is a rare beast, a dug-up German K98 thats 98% complete, although with the pattina you`d expet from something thats been in the ground since it was lost in battle in 1944! Dug up in sandy soil near the Normandy beaches, this dug up K98 is outstanding - most dug ups are solid hunks of unrecognisable rust - this ones complete, action works (so it had to be deactivated) and just check out the laminate woodwork - its rotted enough to make the layers stand out. Believe it or not, you can just make out matching numbers on most of the parts as well (likely full matching but some you just caan`t make out) , Strips, cocks and dry fires and comes with correct UK certificate of deactivation.
